Development of The Resurrection: A New Musical began in November 2024 in England under Simon Bennett. In May 2025, the project expanded through collaboration with Baltimore-based songwriters Russell Greene and PJ Lee, who are making their theatre debut with this work.

The musical remains faithful to the biblical account of the Resurrection while placing special emphasis on the profound personal impact experienced by key figures, including Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of Jesus, and Judas (portrayed as an apparition trapped in limbo).

The score fuses contemporary musical theatre styles with elements of rock, country, and choral writing, creating a sound that serves the narrative and the characters’ emotional journeys while offering broad audience appeal.

The complete studio recording, featuring an international cast, is scheduled for release in 2026. A distinctive feature of the project is the use of analogue production techniques, delivering an authentic, warm, vintage-inspired sound.
